What to Do When the Brake Lights Stay On After the Car is Turned Off?
1 Answers
If the brake lights remain on after the car is turned off, it is highly likely that there is a fault with the brake light switch. Replacing the brake light switch generally involves the following steps: 1. Remove the cover panel. The brake light switch is usually located above the brake pedal, so the first step is to remove the cover panel, which is the base plate above the brake, clutch, and accelerator pedals. 2. Rotate the switch counterclockwise. After removing the cover panel, you can see the brake light switch above the brake pedal. The switch is a twist-lock type and can be pulled out by rotating it counterclockwise. 3. Install the new brake light switch. Similarly, insert the new switch into the twist-lock hole and rotate it clockwise to secure it. 4. Reinstall the cover panel, following the reverse order of removal. 5. After replacement, test the brake system to ensure the brake lights function properly.
