What to Do When Fuel Overflows During Refueling
1 Answers
Here are the handling methods for fuel overflow: 1. For gasoline, use a broom (never use a plastic broom) to disperse it, isolate the area, and keep people and vehicles away until it evaporates completely. 2. For diesel, if diesel overflows, use fire sand to pour over it and sweep back and forth to absorb the oil. Then, place the oil-sand mixture on a sun-exposed concrete area to dry. It is recommended to check the fuel gauge on the dashboard before refueling and fill an appropriate amount. Additional information: Overfilling the fuel tank is not beneficial for the car and may cause malfunctions in the three-way catalytic converter or block the return pipe. Unless going on a long trip, filling the tank to 70% capacity is most suitable.
