What to Do When Coolant Level Is Too Low in Summer?

If you find the engine coolant level is too low, first turn off the engine and wait for a while until the pressure in the upper hose decreases. Place something under the cap of the coolant reservoir. Slowly rotate the cap and stop when gas starts to escape. After the gas is completely released, unscrew the reservoir cap and add coolant. Some Japanese and Korean cars have an additional radiator cap on the radiator besides the coolant reservoir. If the coolant level is too low, simply top it up as usual. If there is a significant loss of coolant or the temperature gauge shows the engine is overheating, stop the vehicle immediately and call for assistance. You can use purified water as a temporary substitute for coolant and drive the vehicle to the nearest repair shop for maintenance.
