What to do if water gets into the car floor?

First, remove the soaked carpet and then clean out the remaining water inside the car. Opening the rubber plug can drain the accumulated water in the compartment. After the water is cleaned up, open the car windows on sunny days to fully air out the car. Park the car in a sunny place and leave the doors open for drying. Disinfect and deodorize. After the carpet gets wet, it is prone to bacterial growth due to dampness. Use special disinfectants or alcohol to disinfect the interior of the car.
When I find water on the car floor, the first thing I do is quickly remove all the floor mats to rinse and dry them. Then, I use towels to soak up as much water as possible from the floor, especially in corners like the seat rails and air vents. If there's too much water, I use a household vacuum cleaner on high suction mode to remove the excess. After dealing with the water, I let the car air dry for three to five days, parking it in a sunny spot with the windows and doors open for ventilation. Recently, this happened because the door seals were aging, so I later bought seal protectant for regular maintenance. During the rainy season, I make sure to double-check that the windows are tightly closed when parking, since water damage to electronic systems can be very expensive to repair.
