What to Do If the Sunroof Sunshade Fabric Falls Off?

If the sunshade is damaged and can no longer be used, you can purchase replacement parts online and repair the sunshade yourself. Visit a car 4S store to have professional repair personnel fix it. After the old sunshade falls off, you can buy some strong adhesive to reattach the sunshade.
It's quite common for the sunshade fabric of sunroofs to come off, and I've experienced it with my own car. The main reasons are usually fabric aging or adhesive failure. When it happened, I immediately fixed it myself: first, I used alcohol wipes to clean off the old adhesive residue, ensuring the surface was clean and free of grease; second, I went to a hardware store and bought high-temperature-resistant double-sided tape, which I applied to the edges of the new fabric; third, I gently pressed and aligned the position, then waited 24 hours for it to adhere firmly. The whole process took about half an hour and cost just over ten yuan. After the repair, driving in summer was less hot, and it also protected the sunroof glass from direct sunlight. Prevention is key—it's advisable to regularly check the sunshade, especially using a sunshade when parking in hot weather, which can extend its lifespan and avoid sudden detachment affecting driving comfort.
