What to Do If the Rear Door of the Car Leaks?

Check if the sealing strip is severely damaged or deformed. If it is damaged, replace it with a new one. Gently pull off the strip under the car door, and you will see a square drainage outlet. If the car hasn't been cleaned for a long time, some mud and debris may have accumulated.
It's quite annoying when I find the rear door leaking. Last rainy season, the car carpet got completely soaked and developed a musty smell. The causes are usually aging and cracked door seals or clogged drainage holes with debris. DIY is simple: first, test with water to locate the leak. Clear the drainage holes with a small stick or an air gun; replace the seal if it's damaged—new ones cost less than a hundred yuan online and are easy to install. If the window regulator isn’t adjusted properly, water might seep in, so check if the clips are loose. Don’t delay fixing this, as leaks can corrode the floor and cause short circuits, damaging the electrical system or even leading to a fire. After my fix, the rear door stopped leaking. I also avoid parking under trees to prevent leaf buildup—saving both hassle and money. Acting promptly can prevent major repairs.
