If the driver's license has been expired for one year, it will be canceled if not renewed. Renewal can be done within one year without incurring a fine. According to Article 42, Section 5 of Chapter 3 in the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses" issued by the Ministry of Public Security, if a driver's license has been expired for more than one year without renewal, the vehicle management office shall revoke the driver's license. To renew the license, you need to bring your ID card, driver's license, four one-inch white-background color photos, and a medical examination form to the local vehicle management office. According to the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Driver's Licenses" (Order No. 111 of the Ministry of Public Security), it is clearly stated: "Motor vehicle drivers shall apply for license renewal at the vehicle management office where the driver's license was originally issued within 90 days before the expiration of the driver's license." For licenses issued after 2009, the supplementary page also indicates the time for submitting a physical condition certificate and renewing the new driver's license (previously, the driver's license also noted the annual inspection time and validity period). Annual inspection schedule: Drivers holding licenses for vehicle types A, B, N, or P, drivers holding a type C license engaged in commercial transport, and drivers over 60 years old must undergo an annual inspection once a year; drivers holding licenses for other vehicle types must undergo an inspection every two years. The inspection deadline is based on the annual inspection expiration date noted on the supplementary page of the driver's license. Drivers who fail to undergo the inspection on time will be subject to fines.
