What to Do If the Car Is Leaking Engine Oil?

If it's a valve cover oil leak, the valve cover gasket needs to be replaced. If it's an engine oil pan leak, it's due to the aging of the oil pan gasket. The oil pan needs to be removed, the gasket replaced, and sealant reapplied. If the oil pan drain plug is loose or damaged, tighten or replace the drain plug.
A few days ago, I noticed oil stains on the ground while driving, so I immediately stopped to check under the hood. There was quite a bit of engine oil leakage. If the engine runs out of oil, it can overheat and be ruined, posing a major safety hazard. You must turn off the engine immediately and avoid driving it hard. Use a tissue or cloth to wipe the leak point and check its location—common causes include a cracked oil pan, aging oil seals, or a loose oil filter. For a temporary fix, you can add the same type of engine oil, but only drive a short distance to the repair shop. Regular maintenance should include paying attention to oil change intervals—don’t exceed them. Early detection and repair of oil leaks can prevent accidents and ensure driving safety. Take it to a professional repair shop for inspection—spending a few hundred bucks to fix it is much better than replacing the entire engine.
