Open the WeChat app on your phone; on the 'Me' page in WeChat, find 'Pay' and click to enter; proceed to the payment page. Under 'Tencent Services', locate 'City Services' and click to enter. Find 'Service Hall' within 'City Services'. In the 'Service Hall', select 'ETC' under 'Vehicle Services', click to enter the ETC page, and choose the first option 'WeETC'. On the loss reporting page, fill in your personal vehicle information and identity details to complete the ETC loss report, ensuring no financial loss even if the card is lost.
I recently experienced the loss of my ETC card, which was really stressful. As soon as I realized the card was missing, I immediately called the bank's customer service to report the loss. The sooner you report it, the better, to prevent unauthorized ETC charges. After reporting the loss, the customer service representative informed me that I needed to bring my ID card and vehicle registration to the nearest bank counter to apply for a replacement card, which would take about one or two days to obtain. During the replacement process, the bank also helped me check the card's transaction history to ensure there was no fraudulent activity. After receiving the new card, I had to reinsert it into the OBU device in my car to activate it; otherwise, issues could arise at highway toll stations. I also installed the bank's app to monitor my ETC account regularly and prevent similar problems in the future. This experience taught me a habit: always put the ETC card back in a fixed wallet after use and avoid leaving it around carelessly. Losing it causes unnecessary delays and additional replacement fees. Although the whole process was troublesome, safety comes first.
