What sensors are included in airbags?

Airbags can be categorized into electromechanical collision sensors, electronic collision sensors, and mechanical collision sensors based on their structural differences. According to their purposes, they can be divided into triggering collision sensors and protective collision sensors. Airbag sensors are generally referred to as collision sensors, where triggering collision sensors are used to detect changes in acceleration during a collision and transmit the collision signal to the airbag control unit as a trigger signal. As one of the effective measures to enhance vehicle safety, airbags are receiving increasing attention. In some actual collision incidents, airbags have proven effective in reducing occupant casualties. However, the deployment of airbags can cause harm to occupants. During deployment, the airbag cover is forced open, and the rapid inflation may impact the occupants. The hot gases produced can also burn the occupants and the driver.
