What's the difference between SN and SL engine oil?
1 Answers
SN engine oil is two grades higher than SL engine oil. SN-grade engine oil is mainly fully synthetic oil, while SL-grade engine oil is mainly semi-synthetic oil. Fully synthetic oil is the highest grade of engine oil, containing no mineral oil components at all, whereas semi-synthetic oil contains some. Compared to semi-synthetic oil, fully synthetic oil has the following advantages: 1. Advantage one: Fully synthetic oil has a longer oil change interval. 2. Advantage two: Fully synthetic oil has better high and low-temperature performance. 3. Advantage three: Fully synthetic oil is more suitable for harsher vehicle conditions.
