For the first car maintenance, it is necessary to replace the engine oil, oil filter, fuel filter, and air filter, followed by checking the screws and nuts under the chassis. The first maintenance must be performed within 5,000 kilometers or six months of the car's usage. If the car's usage exceeds six months, the 4S store will not provide the first maintenance service. Before the first maintenance, pay attention to the following points: 1. Make an appointment in advance: It is best to make an appointment with the 4S store beforehand; otherwise, you might encounter situations where there are no available service bays or long waiting times. 2. Bring necessary documents: When going for the first maintenance, bring essential documents such as the maintenance manual and vehicle license. If you are unsure about which documents to bring, make sure to clarify during the appointment.

I recently completed my first car maintenance, which basically involved changing the engine oil and oil filter, the two core components. The technician at the 4S shop mentioned that during the break-in period of a new car, there tends to be more metal debris, so it's necessary to replace the engine oil to flush out the engine. They also conducted free checks on tire pressure, brake pad wear, and the lighting system, paying special attention to any scratches on the undercarriage. Although the air filter didn’t need replacement, the technician removed it to blow out the dust. The entire process took about half an hour, and they stamped the maintenance manual for confirmation afterward. The next service is due at either 10,000 kilometers or six months later, and they advised not to exceed this period to avoid affecting the warranty.

The focus of the first maintenance is just two things: engine oil and oil filter must be replaced. The running-in process of a new car's engine produces metal debris, and the old oil circulates with these impurities. If not replaced in time, it may wear the cylinder walls. Other items are mainly inspections and adjustments, such as tire pressure calibration, brake fluid level check, and tightening chassis screws. The cabin air filter is usually cleaned but not replaced unless it's particularly dirty. During my last first maintenance, the technician also reset the onboard computer, saying it was to let the ECU relearn driving habits. The entire process is free, but don't exceed the mileage limit.

How to Deal with the Continuously Illuminated Tire Pressure Monitoring Light on Lavida?

Turn on the ignition switch, press and hold the SET button of the tire inflation pressure control system until the dashboard indicator light comes on. Wait for the system to confirm the storage of new parameters, and the tire pressure monitoring light will automatically turn off, completing the reset. Below are the specific methods to eliminate the tire pressure monitoring light: 1. First, turn off the engine, then turn on the power for vehicle self-inspection. Press and hold the tire pressure monitoring button on the right front side of the gear shift lever for about three seconds until you hear a "ding" sound. Release the button to eliminate the tire pressure warning light on the dashboard. 2. If the light cannot be eliminated, visit a Volkswagen after-sales service center. Have the staff check the tire pressure and related systems such as sensors. After confirming there are no faults, use a specialized decoder to clear the tire pressure warning light on the vehicle.

What is the principle of car tire pressure monitoring?

Car tire pressure monitoring principle depends on the type of monitoring device, specifically introduced as follows: 1. Direct tire pressure monitoring: Uses pressure sensors installed inside the tires to measure air pressure, and wireless transmitters to send pressure information from inside the tire to a central receiver module. 2. Indirect tire pressure monitoring: When tire pressure decreases, the vehicle's weight causes that wheel's rolling radius to become smaller. By comparing rotational speed differences between tires, it achieves the purpose of monitoring tire pressure. 3. Functions of tire pressure monitoring: Prevent accidents; Extend tire service life.

What to Do When the Car Key Won't Come Out?

When a car key won't come out, it's not necessarily a malfunction. There are two common scenarios: first, the key won't come out after turning off the engine; second, the key can't be turned after insertion. Here are the details: 1. Key won't come out after turning off the engine (common in automatic transmission models): In this case, the owner should check if there's any obstruction in the gear slot. Remove the obstruction, start the car, shift the gear again to ensure it's fully back in place, and then the key can be pulled out. 2. Key can't be turned after insertion: This is actually the car's automatic steering wheel lock function, a simple anti-theft feature. To resolve this, turn the key forcefully with your right hand while gently shaking the steering wheel left and right with your left hand, and the key will turn.

What are the effects of overfilling engine oil?

The effects of overfilling engine oil are: 1. Intense agitation between engine components, leading to excessive engine load and power loss; 2. Oil splashing onto cylinder walls and entering the intake system through the crankcase ventilation system, causing oil burning issues. The method for changing engine oil is: 1. Lift the vehicle with a jack, locate and loosen the drain plug to drain the oil; 2. Remove the oil filter and place a container beneath it; 3. Install a new oil filter and add fresh oil. The functions of engine oil are: 1. Reduce friction and high temperatures; 2. Cool down the engine; 3. Clean and remove contaminants; 4. Dampen vibrations; 5. Prevent rust and corrosion.
