What oil does the NK250 use?

10w40 oil is recommended. Below are the main functions of engine oil: 1. Lubrication and wear reduction: There is rapid relative sliding between the piston and cylinder, as well as between the main shaft and bearing shells. To prevent excessive wear of parts, an oil film needs to be established between the two sliding surfaces. A sufficiently thick oil film separates the surfaces of the relatively sliding parts, thereby reducing wear. 2. Cooling: Engine oil can carry heat back to the oil tank and then dissipate it into the air, helping the radiator to cool the engine. High-quality engine oil can carry carbon deposits, sludge, and worn metal particles from engine parts back to the oil tank through circulation, flushing away contaminants generated on the working surfaces of components through the flow of the lubricating oil.
I've been riding the CFMoto 250NK for several years, always using 10W-40 full synthetic oil, and it works great. The bike's single-cylinder engine is quite sensitive, and full synthetic oil provides excellent protection, especially reducing friction and heat loss during high-speed riding. I prefer Shell's oil because its viscosity remains stable—no startup hesitation in winter and no thinning in summer. I recommend changing it every 3,000 to 5,000 kilometers while checking the oil level. Remember not to use regular car oil, as motorcycle clutches may require specific additives. From my experience, choosing the right oil extends engine life and makes riding smoother and more reassuring.
