What must be checked before operating an overhead crane?

Before operating an overhead crane, you must check the reducer, drum, steel rope, hook, etc. Reducer: Good lubrication, normal sound, firm foundation, and vibration-free operation. Check for oil leaks and address them if present. Drum: Check for axial movement and abnormal bearing sounds. Ensure the gear coupling is well lubricated. Steel rope: Good lubrication, wear less than 40% (20% for liquid lifting), no kinks or twists, no broken wires, and no disengagement from the groove. Hook: Vertical wear less than 10%, smooth rotation, intact protective cover, undamaged pulley. Nuts should not be loose, and pins should not be missing. Drive shaft: Axial movement less than 5-10 mm, coupling screws tightened. Radial swing less than 1-1.5 mm, good lubrication, and no loose bolts. Brake: Brake wheel wear less than 3 mm with no scratches, smooth and reliable operation, no jamming, and no axial movement of the brake wheel. Brake band wear less than 50%. No broken springs.
