Article 57 of the "Traffic Regulations Penalty Rules": Motor vehicle drivers should apply for license renewal at the vehicle management office of the license issuing location or elsewhere within 90 days before the expiration of their motor vehicle driver's license. When applying, an application form must be completed and the following documents submitted: the identity proof of the motor vehicle driver; the motor vehicle driver's license; a medical certificate of physical condition issued by a county-level or higher medical institution or a military medical institution at the regimental level or above. For applications for small automatic transmission passenger vehicles specially designed for disabled persons, a medical certificate of physical condition issued by a specialized medical institution designated by the provincial health authority must be submitted. For annual review and renewal of an expired driver's license, the old license must be surrendered to the vehicle management office. According to the Ministry of Public Security's Order No. 123, license renewal can be applied for up to 90 days in advance at the original issuing vehicle management office. Materials required for license renewal: Original ID card and a photocopy. Qualified medical examination form from a hospital designated by the vehicle management office. Three one-inch color photos with a white background. Completed license renewal application form and processing fee. Photos and medical examination certificates for renewal can be prepared by the applicant. If concerned about potential disqualification, these can be processed directly at the traffic police department's licensing hall to save time. Important notes about expired license renewal: If a driver's license is expired, traffic police may impose a fine but no penalty points. There is also a latest deadline for renewal: if expired for less than one year, renewal can proceed normally; if expired between one to three years, the license will be revoked but can be reinstated by passing Subject 1 of the driving test; if expired for over three years, the license will be permanently revoked.

Last year when my driver's license expired and I went to renew it, I clearly remember the required materials: original ID card and its copy are essential, don't forget to bring them. The expired old driver's license must also be taken along as the vehicle management office needs to verify it. The medical examination certificate must be obtained from a designated hospital. I chose a community hospital where it took about twenty minutes to check my vision, hearing, etc., and I received a qualified certificate. You also need to prepare a one-inch front-facing photo with a blue or white background according to local requirements. I had several printed in advance as backups. The location is usually at the local vehicle management office, and it's best to make an appointment to avoid peak queue times. The process isn't difficult, but driving with an expired license may result in fines, so I suggest setting aside a day to get everything done to avoid future hassles. Some people who delay too long might have to retake the written test (Subject One), so it's better to act promptly. Nowadays, you can also check specific requirements online, such as confirming the material list through the Traffic Management 12123 App, which is quite convenient. In short, prepare your ID card, old license, medical examination certificate, and photo, and you'll smoothly get your new license.

I just renewed my expired driver's license. Here are the required materials: original ID card (must be valid and authentic), and it's best to bring a photocopy just in case. The original expired driver's license must be brought to prove existing qualifications. A medical examination certificate is required - you need to get checked at designated locations; for example, I spent 30 yuan on a vision test at the hospital. Prepare one 1-inch bareheaded photo with background color according to local requirements. I recommend going to the DMV early to avoid crowds. If you drive with an expired license for too long, you might get fined several hundred yuan if caught. The whole process is quick - with complete documents, it takes about half an hour. Remember to bring some cash or mobile payment tools for fees. Regularly check your license expiration date and prepare in advance to save trouble. Some cities now support mail delivery, but documents need to be reviewed before the new license is issued - just make sure to confirm the details.

Why Do Diesel Vehicles Need Urea Solution?

Diesel vehicles add urea solution to reduce exhaust emissions and protect the atmospheric environment. The use of urea in vehicles is to convert harmful nitrogen oxides in the exhaust into nitrogen and water. The exhaust emitted by engines is extremely harmful to the atmospheric environment. With increasingly stringent environmental regulations, exhaust treatment systems have been developed to ensure compliance. The primary harmful substances in diesel exhaust are nitrogen oxides and particulates. The exhaust treatment system can reduce particulate emissions. Once urea is used in the vehicle, as long as the engine is running, the urea is injected into the exhaust treatment system, where it decomposes into ammonia gas at high temperatures.

What are the differences between China 5 and China 6 vehicle models?

The differences between China 5 and China 6 emission standards are as follows: Different emission standards: The China 6 emission standard is more than 30% stricter than China 5. Excluding the influence of driving conditions and testing, gasoline vehicles' carbon monoxide emissions are reduced by 50%, total hydrocarbons and non-methane hydrocarbons emissions are reduced by 50%, and nitrogen oxide emissions are reduced by 42%. Different implementation times: The China 5 standard was implemented nationwide on January 1, 2017. The China 6 standard was implemented on July 1, 2019. Different principles: During the China 5 phase, diesel and gasoline vehicles had different emission standards, but China 6 adopts a fuel-neutral principle, meaning the emission limits are the same regardless of the fuel type. Different issuing departments: The China 5 standard was issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The China 6 standard was issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine. Different letter representations: China 5 is represented by 'V,' and China 6 is represented by 'VI.' Different monitoring requirements for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles: Compared to China 5, China 6 has improved monitoring requirements for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, including energy storage systems, thermal management systems, brake regeneration, drive motors, generators, and other regulations. China 5 standard limits are as follows: Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 1,000 mg of carbon monoxide per kilometer driven. Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 68 mg of non-methane hydrocarbons per kilometer driven. Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 60 mg of nitrogen oxides per kilometer driven. Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 4.5 mg of PM fine particles per kilometer driven. China 6 has two standards: China 6a and China 6b, as follows: China 6a standard limits: Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 700 mg of carbon monoxide per kilometer driven. China 6b standard limits: Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 500 mg of carbon monoxide per kilometer driven. Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 35 mg of non-methane hydrocarbons per kilometer driven. Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 35 mg of nitrogen oxides per kilometer driven. Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 3 mg of PM fine particles per kilometer driven. Affected by the China 6 emission policy, although China 5 vehicles are not currently restricted in normal use, their resale value will be significantly impacted. For truck owners who purchase vehicles on loan for freight transport, after repaying the loan, the vehicle's depreciation equals the net profit earned during that period. A higher residual value means more profit for the owner. Therefore, from this perspective, China 6 vehicles, with longer service life and more road rights, have greater advantages.

Can a leaking shock absorber be repaired?

Whether a leaking shock absorber can be repaired depends on the specific situation. If the leakage is caused by normal aging and damage of the internal oil seal, it can be repaired. However, if the leakage is induced by factors such as strong impact, it cannot be repaired and must be replaced. This is currently the mainstream repair method adopted by 4S shops and repair shops. To rapidly attenuate the vibration of the frame and body and improve the smoothness and comfort of the car, shock absorbers are generally installed on the vehicle's suspension system. The most widely used type in automobiles is the double-acting telescopic shock absorber. Shock absorbers are vulnerable components during vehicle use, and their condition directly affects the driving stability of the car and the lifespan of other components.

On what road surfaces are vehicles prone to wheel lock-up?

Vehicles are prone to wheel lock-up when braking on road surfaces with low friction coefficients, such as icy or snowy roads. Due to the minimal friction generated on such surfaces, when the friction between the brake pads and brake discs exceeds that between the road and the wheels, the wheels may lock up and skid, significantly increasing the risk of rollover or tipping accidents. Wheel lock-up is defined as the tires ceasing to rotate while the vehicle continues to move, creating dynamic friction between the tires and the road surface. A similar phenomenon is wheel spin during acceleration (where the vehicle remains stationary while the tires rotate freely). In certain high-performance models, switching the driving mode to drift mode can deactivate the wheel lock-up system. The anti-lock braking system (ABS) is a crucial safety feature designed to prevent such accidents.
