F11 is a pearlitic heat-resistant steel forging conforming to American standards. Meaning of F11: The F-11 Fighter (English: F-11 Fighter, nickname: Tiger, also known as F11F) is a fighter aircraft developed by Grumman Corporation of the United States, now retired. The F-11 fighter originated in 1952 when Grumman self-funded research into modifying the design of the F9F-6/7 "Cougar" to comply with the area rule principle. The purpose was to reduce transonic drag and achieve supersonic flight capability. Technical characteristics of F11: The F11 features a cylindrical fuselage with thin, narrow-chord swept mid-wings. The fuselage noticeably narrows at the wing installation position to comply with the area rule. Air intakes are located on both sides of the fuselage, below and to the right of the cockpit.
