What license plate is issued for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles?

Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles are issued new energy license plates. New energy vehicle license plates are primarily green in color and are divided into special license plates for small new energy vehicles and large new energy vehicles. In the green license plates, the letter D represents pure electric vehicles, while F represents plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles. For small vehicles, the letters D and F appear in the first position of the numerical sequence. Compared to fuel-powered hybrids, plug-in hybrids have an additional charging port for external charging. They also have lower internal design and technical requirements, but feature larger battery capacities and longer pure electric driving ranges. Vehicles with green license plates are exempt from tail number driving restrictions.
