The K4 is a mid-size sedan, a 4-door 5-seater sedan under the Kia brand. It measures 4720mm in length, 1815mm in width, and 1465mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2770mm. It is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and powered by a 1.8L naturally aspirated engine, which delivers a maximum power of 105 kW, a maximum torque of 176 Nm, and reaches its peak torque at 4500 rpm. The K4 features front-wheel drive, with a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link independent rear suspension. It comes with tire pressure monitoring, front seatbelt reminder, child seat anchors, ABS, electronic stability control, engine start-stop technology, and hill-start assist.
I've driven the K4 for a while, and it's actually a mid-cycle facelift of the Kia K4, firmly positioned as a midsize sedan. With its 2770mm wheelbase, it's significantly longer than mainstream compact cars, offering about two fists of knee room for three adults in the back. At launch, it competed directly with the Mistra, priced between 160,000 to 190,000 RMB, right at the entry-level B-segment bracket. In the same showroom, the K3 is a compact, the K5 is a standard B-segment, while the K4 sits perfectly in between as the 'entry-level B-segment gatekeeper.' Its trunk can fit a stroller plus two suitcases, making it particularly suitable for family use.
