What kind of oil is valve body oil?

Valve body oil is transmission oil, which is a lubricant used to keep the gear shift system clean. It serves to lubricate and prolong the lifespan of the transmission components, providing effective lubrication even at low temperatures and reducing oil loss under harsh operating conditions. Depending on the structure of the transmission, transmission oil is further divided into automatic transmission fluid (ATF) and manual transmission oil. Automatic transmission fluid is specifically designed for automatic transmissions, whereas early automatic transmissions did not have dedicated fluid and instead used engine oil. Manual transmission oil, commonly referred to as gear oil, is used for lubricating hypoid gear drive shafts and manual transmissions that operate under severe conditions with high impact loads.
