What kind of engine oil should Emgrand use?

Emgrand uses 10W-30 engine oil. When the temperature is below 0°C, SAE5W-30 can be used instead. The following is the method to check the engine oil level: 1. Turn off the engine and wait for a few minutes to allow the oil to flow back into the oil pan. This is mainly to determine the actual oil level. 2. Pull out the engine oil dipstick, wipe it clean with a tissue or cloth, and then insert it back all the way. 3. Pull out the engine oil dipstick again to check the liquid level. The liquid level must not be lower than the MIN mark on the engine oil dipstick. 4. If the engine oil is found to be below the MIN mark, unscrew the engine oil filler cap and add engine oil to maintain the oil level between the MAX and MIN marks on the engine oil dipstick.
I've been driving the Emgrand for several years. The manual recommends using synthetic oil with a viscosity of 5W-30, which protects the engine in all weather conditions, especially suggesting 0W-30 for faster starts in cold regions. The API grade should be at least SN or above to ensure oil quality and reduce wear. Not changing the oil on time or using mineral oil to save money can lead to engine carbon buildup and increased noise. It's best to change the oil every 5,000 kilometers, considering your driving habits. Choose reputable brands like Mobil or Shell; they may cost a bit more but offer good value for money. The Emgrand's engine is precise, and using high-quality oil ensures longer and smoother operation. Remember to have a professional check it during annual maintenance to avoid using other brands that might affect performance.
