For China VI emission standard vehicles, low-ash oil is a must to prevent particulate filter clogging – repairs can be especially troublesome. The Tharu's 1.4T engine requires VW50800-certified 0W-20 oil as per factory specifications, with full synthetic being recommended. Premium brands like original VW Black Diamond, Shell Helix Ultra, or Mobil ESP are good choices. During summer when running AC under heavy load, oil temperatures rise and 5W-30 can serve as emergency use, but 0W-20 remains better for long-term engine protection.
