What kind of engine oil should be used for BMW 4 Series N20?

It is recommended to use 0w40 or 5w40 engine oil. The viscosity of 30-grade oil is too low for turbocharged engines. Increased fuel consumption: When adding engine oil, the oil level should be between the upper and lower limits on the dipstick. If too much oil is added to the engine, the volume will expand as the engine temperature rises, leading to increased pressure in the oil chamber and greater operating resistance. This can result in reduced vehicle power and increased fuel consumption. Overfilling engine oil: If too much oil is added, the breather pipe of the crankcase may allow oil to pass through, increasing the pressure inside the crankcase. The oil seal may then loosen due to the oil pressure, leading to oil leakage. Overfilling engine oil can also affect engine cooling.
