What kind of engine oil is suitable for the Tanyue 330?

The Tanyue 330 is recommended to use 5W-40 or 5W-30 engine oil. If you frequently drive in urban areas, Shell engine oil is suggested due to its excellent self-cleaning properties, which effectively remove carbon deposits from the engine. For those who often drive long distances on highways, Mobil engine oil is recommended because of its superior high-temperature resistance and high stability. Below are some precautions for changing engine oil: 1. Drain the oil when it's hot for better fluidity. 2. Fill to the level indicated on the dipstick. 3. Choose the oil change interval based on the vehicle's condition, road conditions, oil quality, and driving habits. 4. Select the oil grade according to the driving environment, driving frequency, and the requirements of the vehicle's engine itself—always prefer a higher grade over a lower one.
The maintenance manual for my Tayron 330 clearly specifies using 5W-40 oil that meets the VW50200 standard, which is a universal specification for German turbocharged vehicles. I previously used 0W-30 oil, but it resulted in rapid oil consumption. Switching to 5W-40 resolved the issue. I recommend prioritizing fully synthetic oils like Shell Helix Ultra or Mobil 1, as they offer better engine cleanliness. The original oil used by the 4S dealership for maintenance is also of this specification, but you can bring your own higher-quality oil. An oil change interval of around 8,000 kilometers is ideal. In colder northern regions, oils with a 0W rating can also be used during winter.
