What kind of engine oil is suitable for GSX250?

GSX250 uses 5-series engine oil. Classification of engine oil: Engine oil is classified into mineral oil, semi-synthetic oil, and full synthetic oil. The base oil of currently used engine oil is composed of hydrocarbons, poly-alpha-olefins (PAO), and polyinternal olefins (PIO), all of which are organic compounds consisting solely of carbon and hydrogen. Some high-grade engine oils may contain up to 20% esters. Function of engine oil: There is rapid relative sliding between the piston and cylinder, as well as between the main shaft and bearing bush. To prevent excessive wear of parts, an oil film needs to be established between the two sliding surfaces. A sufficiently thick oil film separates the surfaces of relatively sliding parts, thereby achieving the purpose of reducing wear.
For the GSX250 motorcycle, I recommend using fully synthetic 10W-40 engine oil that meets the JASO MA or MA2 standards. This ensures smooth engine operation across all RPM ranges. With over a decade of motorcycle riding experience, I always insist on premium brands like Motul or Castrol for fully synthetic oil. Although more expensive, it reduces wear and extends engine life. During hot summers, the 10W-40 viscosity remains stable to prevent overheating, while ensuring easy cold starts in winter. Change the oil every 3,000-5,000 kilometers, and never forget to replace the oil filter as it affects oil efficiency. Avoid cheap mineral oils—they may cause long-term issues. Always check the owner's manual for specific details, as proper maintenance can save you from costly repairs. Remember, engine oil is the lifeblood of your engine—never compromise on it.
