Fujiwara Takumi's AE86 is a Toyota Trueno GT Apex (AE86). The AE86 is a model from Toyota's compact car series called the Corolla. AE86 is not a name but a chassis code. The AE86 is the fourth-generation Corolla model first produced in 1983. Previous models included the TE27, TE51, TE55, TE61, TE65, and TE71, followed by the AE86 chassis. This chassis was used not only in the Corolla Levin but also in the Trueno, hence the distinction between pop-up and fixed-headlight AE86 variants. The AE86 also came in two-door and two-door hatchback versions, essentially offering four body styles, all referred to as AE86. They shared major components like the engine and transmission, with the most significant difference being the rear differential (DIFF). The AE86 features a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and has a relatively heavy body. Its rear-wheel design uses a non-independent solid axle with a single trailing arm suspension. This configuration gives the AE86 an inherent advantage in drifting, as it offers greater agility, making it highly suitable for drifting.
