What is the Vehicle Certificate Number?

The certificate number is the number on the vehicle's documentation. When a vehicle is approved, the certificate of approval is a necessary document. Only vehicles with this certificate can meet the national standards for motor vehicles and be sold on the market. A vehicle also has a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), which is essentially the car's "ID number." It is a unique 17-digit code used to identify the manufacturer, engine, chassis number, and other specifications of the vehicle. The vehicle certificate is issued with the vehicle upon production. When registering the vehicle for a license plate, the certificate must be submitted to the vehicle management office for archiving and replaced with the motor vehicle registration certificate. Therefore, the certificate for unregistered vehicles should be held by the dealer, while the certificate for registered vehicles is stored in the vehicle management office's archives. Both the VIN and the certificate number are essential documents required for motor vehicle registration. The VIN, engine number, and chassis number must match the information on the vehicle's factory certificate to facilitate registration, annual inspections, and transfer of ownership. Missing any of these can cause significant issues. The vehicle certificate is an accompanying document issued with the vehicle and must be submitted to the vehicle management office when applying for a license plate, after which it is replaced with the motor vehicle registration certificate. The motor vehicle certificate number can be found in the first column at the top left corner of the vehicle certificate. When purchasing a vehicle, the certificate must be provided to the buyer along with the vehicle; otherwise, the normal registration and licensing procedures cannot be completed.
