The validity period after the third renewal of a driver's license is long-term. Documents required for renewing a driver's license: Bring your ID card, driver's license, four one-inch white-background color photos, and a medical certificate (physical examination form) issued by a county-level or above medical institution or a military medical institution at the regimental level or above to the local vehicle management office for processing. The motor vehicle driver should apply for renewal at the vehicle management office where the driver's license was issued within 90 days before the expiration of the current driver's license. Driver's license renewal cycle: The validity period of a motor vehicle driver's license is divided into six years, ten years, and long-term. If the motor vehicle driver has not accumulated 12 penalty points in any scoring cycle during the six-year validity period of the driver's license, the driver's license will be renewed with a ten-year validity period. Similarly, if the driver has not accumulated 12 penalty points in any scoring cycle during the ten-year validity period, the driver's license will be renewed with a long-term validity period.
