The Bluetooth function of ETC can only be used when activating the ETC device or recharging the ETC. When using ETC on highways, there is no need to turn on the car's Bluetooth or mobile phone's Bluetooth. The ETC junction box installed in our car has a short-range communication response system inside, which will automatically communicate with the sensors on the road, without the need to turn on Bluetooth for our car or mobile phone. ETC is the abbreviation of Electronic-Toll-Collection, meaning electronic toll collection system. To apply for ETC, you need to provide the original and photocopy of the vehicle owner's valid ID card and driving license. If it is not the owner who applies, the agent's valid ID card is also required. The photocopy of the driving license needs to include the page with the seal of the most recent annual inspection; a bank card for deducting highway tolls; aged between 18 and 60; and the vehicle must be under personal name. The working principle of ETC: Through the on-board electronic tag installed on the vehicle's windshield, it communicates with the microwave antenna in the ETC lane of the toll station, and uses computer networking technology to settle accounts with the bank in the background, enabling the vehicle to pay the highway or bridge toll without stopping when passing through the highway or bridge toll station. Benefits of installing ETC: Save time: Avoid the hassle of queuing and waiting; Green and environmentally friendly: Green and low-carbon, vehicles passing through the toll station without stopping can reduce noise and exhaust emissions and pollution; Save wear and tear: Save costs, reduce the frequency of vehicle starting and braking, and reduce wear and fuel consumption; Improve efficiency: The passing efficiency of ETC lanes can theoretically be increased by 2-3 times or more, making traditional ETC updated, faster, and more high-tech. Compared with license plate payment, ETC technology is more mature and advantageous.

I often use the car's Bluetooth mainly for listening to music and making calls. After connecting my phone to the car's Bluetooth, I can just shout to make a call while driving without even taking my eyes off the road. It's especially reassuring when answering important client calls, as I don't have to fumble around looking for my phone. During my daily commute, I can play navigation while streaming playlists from music apps to the car speakers via Bluetooth, making traffic jams less frustrating. The best part so far has been weekend trips with friends—connecting to Bluetooth and playing music really livens up the whole car. Some high-end models even sync with WeChat voice messages, allowing you to chat directly through the car's microphone, which is quite convenient.

As someone who commutes two hours daily, the greatest value of Bluetooth in the center console is enhancing driving safety. No need for a phone mount anymore – incoming calls can be answered directly with steering wheel buttons without even glancing at the screen. When suddenly needing to check an address while driving, simply connect to the phone's voice assistant via Bluetooth and say 'Navigate to gas station' – no need to touch the phone at all. Once had to confirm an urgent contract with a client and handled the entire call via Bluetooth. Tested on the same route: using Bluetooth calls is significantly safer than looking down to grab the phone, providing at least half a second more emergency reaction time.

Many cars today offer a more hassle-free Bluetooth experience than expected. I'm used to instant connection upon entering the vehicle, with some models automatically resuming podcast playback from my phone as soon as the engine starts. Last time, I even discovered the ability to transfer phone contacts to the infotainment system, allowing me to find contacts directly through the car's screen. When family members temporarily drove this car, their phones automatically synced frequently visited locations like the barber shop as soon as Bluetooth connected. A hidden benefit of Bluetooth connectivity is its ability to relay notification sounds from phone apps, ensuring important messages from WeChat or DingTalk aren't missed. The most surprising feature is that some cars can even authorize digital keys via Bluetooth.
