I've been driving a Civic 1.5T for two years, mainly commuting in the city center. With AC on in summer, the displayed fuel consumption fluctuates between 8.5 to 9.2 liters per 100km. Stop-and-go traffic consumes the most fuel - once during rush hour, I was stuck for half an hour and the single-trip consumption soared to 11L. I recommend maintaining tire pressure around 2.5 bar and avoiding aggressive throttle when starting at traffic lights. Gentle driving can save about 0.8L per 100km based on my tests. However, the small 40L fuel tank means I basically need to visit gas stations weekly. On elevated highways, consumption can drop to around 7L - there's quite a difference between urban and suburban driving.

Will Replacing Soundproofing Cotton Damage the Car?

Replacing soundproofing cotton will not damage the car. Methods for car soundproofing include: 1. Applying sound-absorbing foam material under the engine hood; 2. Installing soundproofing cotton material in the trunk, at the bottom of the trunk, and on the wheel arches on both sides of the trunk; 3. Installing sealing strips inside the doors; 4. Installing professional damping plates in areas prone to noise; 5. Installing sound-deadening pads and moisture-proof soundproofing cotton on the central chassis and rear trunk chassis of the cabin; 6. Adding soundproofing cotton throughout the car body; 7. Replacing tires with better noise reduction performance. The causes of car noise are: 1. Carbon buildup in the engine; 2. Damaged shock absorbers; 3. Large gaps in the cab or vehicle body; 4. Aging tires; 5. Internal damage to the valve guides; 6. Cooling system failure; 7. Poor-quality engine oil; 8. Engine misfire; 9. Carbon buildup on spark plugs.

Is it better to use internal or external air circulation when turning on the car's air conditioning?

Both internal and external air circulation can be used when turning on the car's air conditioning, as there are no strict requirements. A better practice is to alternate between internal and external air circulation. Internal circulation is mostly used during traffic jams, as it can isolate the outside air and prevent polluted air from entering the car. External circulation is mostly used during long drives, as it allows fresh air from outside to enter the car. Internal circulation means that the air blown by the blower only circulates inside the car. Since no external air is involved, it has the advantages of saving fuel and providing faster cooling or heating, but the disadvantage is that it is not conducive to refreshing the air inside the car. External circulation means that the blower draws air from outside the car and blows it into the car. The advantage is that it maintains the freshness of the air inside the car, but the cooling or heating speed is slower.
