What is the Scrap Period for Pickup Trucks?

Currently, pickup trucks are still subject to the mandatory scrapping regulation of 15 years or 600,000 kilometers. However, some regions have gradually relaxed the 15-year scrapping rule for pickups, and household pickups no longer have a fixed scrapping period. Instead, the 600,000-kilometer scrapping regulation is enforced. According to the annual inspection rules for pickups: new pickups are exempt from inspection for the first 6 years, but within the first 6 years, they must be stamped by the vehicle management office every two years. From the 7th to the 15th year, inspections are required annually, and after 15 years, inspections are required every six months. Pickups that fail the annual inspection or exceed 600,000 kilometers must be scrapped. Currently, the government is gradually providing subsidies for eligible National III diesel vehicles to be phased out. For example, in Hangzhou, the maximum subsidy amount is 14,500 yuan, and in some regions, the scrapping subsidy for diesel pickups can be as high as 40,000 yuan per vehicle. Second-hand scrapped pickups can also enjoy subsidies. Pickup Truck Scrapping and Deregistration: The applicant must send the vehicle to be scrapped to a qualified motor vehicle recycling company for dismantling and obtain the "Scrapped Motor Vehicle Recycling Certificate." The recycling company then processes the "Motor Vehicle Deregistration Certificate" with the traffic management department and notifies the owner that the vehicle has been deregistered. Pickup Truck Scrapping Subsidy Application: The applicant (or authorized agent) must go to the service window to fill out and submit the "National III Diesel Vehicle Elimination Subsidy Fund Application Form." The following documents are required for the application: Original and photocopy of the "Scrapped Motor Vehicle Recycling Certificate"; Original and photocopy of the owner's ID card (for individual vehicles) or business license (for corporate vehicles); Original and photocopy of the owner's bank card (photocopy must be signed by the individual), or original and photocopy of the company's bank account opening license (photocopy must bear the company's official seal); If handled by an agent, a full power of attorney from the owner or corporate legal representative and the original and photocopy of the agent's ID card are also required. Pickup Truck Subsidy Disbursement: After approval, the subsidy funds will be transferred to the bank account opened in the name of the owner (or company).
