What is the safe following distance at 100 km/h on the highway?

According to Article 80 of the Implementation Regulations of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, when a motor vehicle is driving on the highway at a speed exceeding 100 km/h, it should maintain a distance of more than 100 meters from the vehicle in front in the same lane. When the speed is below 100 km/h, the distance from the vehicle in front in the same lane can be appropriately reduced, but the minimum distance should not be less than 50 meters. When visibility is less than 200 meters: Turn on fog lights, low beams, outline marker lights, and front and rear position lights. The speed should not exceed 60 km/h, and maintain a distance of more than 100 meters from the vehicle in front in the same lane. When visibility is less than 100 meters: Turn on fog lights, low beams, outline marker lights, front and rear position lights, and hazard warning flashers. The speed should not exceed 40 km/h, and maintain a distance of more than 50 meters from the vehicle in front in the same lane. When visibility is less than 50 meters: Turn on fog lights, low beams, outline marker lights, front and rear position lights, and hazard warning flashers. The speed should not exceed 20 km/h, and exit the highway from the nearest exit as soon as possible.
