Automatic transmission S gear is the sports mode of a car. Introduction to S gear: In S gear sports mode, the throttle response speed becomes faster, the engine speed is also maintained in a higher range, the gear shifting timing is delayed, keeping the vehicle in a high-power output state at all times, which increases driving pleasure. When not to use S gear: Do not use S gear when starting or driving at high speeds. Using S gear when starting does not significantly increase speed; instead, it may hinder speed due to gear issues, wasting more power. During high-speed driving, most cars are placed in the highest gear, which not only achieves very high speeds but also helps save fuel consumption. However, if S gear is used for high-speed driving, the speed will basically not meet the requirements, and the car will never reach the 6th gear. Once a certain speed is exceeded, the sound of the car engine will become very unpleasant.
Having driven an automatic transmission car for several years, the S gear stands for Sport mode to me, primarily used to enhance power response. However, it's worth noting that frequent use can increase fuel consumption, so I only engage it in specific scenarios. Some models also come with complementary features like paddle shifters for manual gear adjustments. Overall, the S gear is a thoughtful design that adapts to diverse driving needs.
