The role of the engine in a car: It is the device that provides power to the car, serving as the heart of the vehicle, determining its power performance, fuel economy, stability, and environmental friendliness. Depending on the power source, car engines can be categorized into diesel engines, gasoline engines, electric vehicle motors, and hybrids, among others. Common gasoline and diesel engines are both types of reciprocating piston internal combustion engines, which convert the chemical energy of fuel into the mechanical energy of piston movement to output power externally. The engine consists of five major systems and two main mechanisms. The five major systems are the fuel supply system, cooling system, lubrication system, ignition system, and starting system. The two main mechanisms are the crankshaft connecting rod mechanism and the valve train mechanism.
