The reason why the car does not move when in D gear and stepping on the accelerator is useless is that the hill-start assist is automatically activated. Hill-start Assist: Hill-start Assist, also known as Hill-start-Assist-Control. To prevent difficulty in starting on an uphill slope, the hill-start assist control temporarily (for a maximum of about 3 seconds) applies braking to all four wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling backward. When starting on a steep or slippery slope, if the driver switches from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal, the vehicle may roll backward, making it difficult to start. Configuration Reason: When hill-start assist control is not equipped, the driver must quickly and accurately switch from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal. However, when equipped with hill-start assist control, because it prevents the vehicle from rolling backward, the driver can easily start the car and operate the pedals with ease.
