What is the reason why the BMW 2 Series USB is not recognized?

Navigation is not activated or the USB format is incorrect. Reasons: The BMW USB connection not responding is because the navigation is not activated. You need to activate the navigation first before you can use the USB. Or the USB format is incorrect, causing it to fail to recognize anything. How to solve: First, click on the ConnectedDrive on the central control screen, then click on Update BMW Services, and wait for the data to transfer. After the data transfer is complete, wait for thirty minutes, then restart the vehicle to activate the navigation. It could also be because the USB capacity is overloaded, causing the fuse in the fuse box to trip. In this case, you need to go to an auto repair center and have a technician open the fuse box for inspection. If the fuse has tripped, simply reinstall it, and then the USB can be used normally. A damaged USB port can also cause the connection to not respond, in which case it needs to be repaired. Another method is to format the USB and then try connecting it again.
Last time my colleague had the same issue with his 2 Series, and we found it was due to incompatible USB drive formatting. The BMW system doesn't support NTFS format very well, so we recommend formatting the USB drive to FAT32. Also, large-capacity USB drives over 64GB are prone to recognition issues. If changing the USB drive doesn't work, you can force restart the infotainment system by holding the volume button for 30 seconds. By the way, the USB port at the rear air outlet has weaker power output, so fast charging cables for phones might not work there. Some low-quality data cables can only charge but not transfer data - switching to original cables would make a big difference.
