What is the reason for the rattling noise in the Haval H6 panoramic sunroof?

Haval H6 panoramic sunroof rattling noise is caused by: debris in the sunroof track or insufficient lubrication. Severe lack of lubrication can lead to noise, rust, poor sliding, automatic activation of the anti-pinch feature preventing closure, and even motor burnout. Panoramic sunroofs are notably large, often comprising the entire glass roof, allowing passengers to enjoy the view above. Many panoramic sunroofs consist of two separate glass panels for front and rear sections, providing both front and rear seats with the sensation of having a sunroof. The Haval H6 is a compact SUV under the Haval brand, with dimensions of 4640mm in length, 1825mm in width, and 1690mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2680mm. It is equipped with a 1.5GDIT and 2.0GDIT engine paired with a wet 7DCT powertrain.
My H6's sunroof also made strange noises, especially rattling on rough roads. I figured out a few reasons myself. One is that dust and small stones got into the tracks, causing grinding sounds when opening/closing. Another is lack of lubrication in the tracks - the rubber seals harden over time and create squeaks when rubbing against the glass. Loose mounting screws could also be the culprit, particularly those at the rear of the sunroof frame which tend to loosen most easily. When cleaning the tracks, I used a toothbrush to remove sand and applied white silicone grease lubricant with good results. Additionally, slight frame deformation during body jolts can cause squeezing noises. If the problem persists, check if the brackets are damaged. These fixes don't require a dealership visit - just half an hour of DIY work.
