What is the reason for the lack of pressure in the Baojun 730 clutch?

Baojun 730 clutch has no pressure due to dirty transmission oil, clutch spring failure, and spring aging. Dirty transmission oil: The clutch oil is dirty with impurities, causing severe wear on the internal piston of the clutch master cylinder, and may also lead to oil hole blockage, resulting in no clutch pressure and poor clutch return. During driving, the oil circuit may become blocked by air, and the working cylinder in the transmission may wear out, leading to the clutch's inability to return properly. Generally, the transmission oil needs to be replaced after 6 years or 60,000 kilometers of driving. Clutch spring failure: The clutch return spring may age, leading to insufficient spring tension, which can also cause the clutch pedal not to return. After purchase, the clutch is carefully adjusted, but poor driving habits or inferior workmanship can cause the clutch pedal spring to loosen or deform. If this is the case, replacing the spring with a new one will solve the problem. Spring aging: In manual transmission cars, the clutch is frequently pressed during driving. Over time, the clutch spring may wear out and age, losing its intended function. In this case, replacing the spring at a repair shop will resolve the issue.
I experienced the same issue with no clutch pressure when driving the Baojun 730 last time—the pedal felt spongy with no feedback at all. In most cases, this is caused by insufficient clutch fluid. Check if the fluid level in the reservoir is low; if it drops below the minimum line, air can enter the system, causing a loss of pressure. Additionally, if there’s a leak in the clutch master or slave cylinder, fluid may seep out—inspect for oil stains on the ground or wetness around the connections under the chassis. Air in the system is another common culprit, which can be resolved by bleeding the system, but this requires professional tools to pump the fluid. If the clutch disc is excessively worn, it can also affect pressure—pay attention if you feel gear shifts becoming rough. The clutch system in the Baojun 730 is generally reliable, but regular fluid checks and monitoring shift feel can help detect issues early. Loss of clutch pressure compromises safe driving—being unable to shift gears on the highway is particularly dangerous. If you notice this problem, drive to a repair shop immediately for a professional inspection rather than attempting DIY fixes.
