What is the reason for not being able to see parallel cars in the rearview mirror?

Cars sometimes cannot see vehicles beside them in the side mirrors because they are in the blind spot. Since the driver's seat in China is positioned on the left, the blind spot on the right side of the car is larger than that on the left. Due to these blind spots on the right, it is recommended that vehicles follow the traffic rule of yielding to the right. Rearview mirrors can be classified by installation position: 1. Interior rearview mirror: The interior rearview mirror allows the driver to confirm the situation behind without significantly altering the forward line of sight while driving. 2. Exterior rearview mirrors: Passenger cars generally mount the exterior rearview mirrors on the doors. Some vehicles in Japan also mount them on the fenders. 3. Undercarriage mirror: This mirror enables the driver to see areas beyond the front and rear wheels under the car body from the driver's seat, helping the driver to check for people or obstacles near the wheels and the car body when reversing or starting forward, thus avoiding injuries, damage to objects or the vehicle, and providing convenience and safety to the driver.
