The XPeng P5 has a range of 460km, 550km, and 600km respectively. In terms of power and battery, the XPeng P5 is equipped with a drive motor with a maximum power of 155kW and a peak torque of 310Nm. The XPeng P5 offers three range versions to choose from: a model with a battery capacity of 55.9kWh (LFP battery) and an NEDC range of 460km; a model with a battery capacity of 66.2kWh (NCM battery) and an NEDC range of 550km; and a model with a battery capacity of 71.4kWh (NCM battery) and an NEDC range of 600km. The range of an electric vehicle is influenced by many factors, such as ambient temperature, tire pressure, wind direction, air conditioning, air resistance, battery capacity, etc. Pure electric vehicles do not have an engine, so many systems rely on electricity to operate. If the air conditioning is turned on during driving, it will certainly lead to a decrease in range. Additionally, if the tire pressure is too low, the contact area between the tires and the ground increases, leading to greater resistance when driving, which also results in a reduction in driving range.
I'm a loyal owner of the XPeng P5 and have been driving it for almost a year. The official range is stated as 450 to 550 kilometers, but in my daily city commuting, I average just over 400 kilometers. With frequent traffic lights on urban roads, the energy consumption tends to be higher. On highways at 110 km/h with the air conditioning on, the range can reach around 420 kilometers. In cold winter weather, the battery's activity decreases, and the range drops more noticeably, possibly down to 380 kilometers. Fortunately, I have a home charging station installed, making it convenient to charge every night. XPeng's battery management is excellent—during maintenance, the technician recommended keeping the battery level between 20% and 80% to extend its lifespan. The car supports fast charging, reaching 80% in half an hour, which provides nearly 300 kilometers of range, making it very useful in emergencies. While the range isn't top-tier, the energy-saving mode is well-optimized, costing only around 100 yuan per month in electricity—far cheaper than a gasoline car. Overall, the P5's range is sufficient for commuters, depending largely on how you drive it.
