What is the purpose of Volkswagen's Comfort Mode?

When a car is in different driving modes, the operating modes of the engine and transmission vary. Generally, vehicles come with Eco mode, Comfort mode, and Sport mode. In Eco mode, the throttle response is less sensitive, and the transmission upshifts at relatively lower RPMs to reduce fuel consumption. In Comfort mode, the throttle response is slightly more sensitive than in Eco mode. In Sport mode, the transmission delays shifting until the engine reaches the redline, making the throttle very responsive and keeping the engine at a higher RPM. Some high-end sports cars also adjust the stiffness of the suspension based on the driving mode. Additionally, the exhaust sound of certain sports cars can change according to the selected mode.
