Subject 1 examination process: Follow the instructions of the staff and collect your student file in order at the waiting area. Bring and present your ID card for verification by the supervising officer. Mobile phones must be turned off upon entering the examination area; loud noises are prohibited in the examination area; textbooks on regulations are not allowed in the examination area (or must be placed in a bag). After the examination, keep your ID card safe and submit the file to the "Submission Window" at the front of the examination room. Candidates who pass the examination should sign under the guidance of the staff at the exit of the examination room before leaving. Candidates who fail the examination can leave the examination room and wait for the driving school staff to notify them of the retake time. The format of Subject 1 is a computer-based test, consisting of 100 questions with a total time of 45 minutes. The question types include true/false and single-choice questions. Content of Subject 1 examination: The examination covers the most basic knowledge, including driving theory, road safety laws and regulations, traffic signals, traffic rules, and local regulations. The timing of the theoretical driving test is arranged by the local vehicle management office.
When I took the first driving test (Subject 1), the process went quite smoothly. First, I registered at the driving school, and the instructor gave me a booklet and a driving study app, requiring me to practice questions for half an hour daily. The focus was on traffic rules, traffic lights, and safety knowledge. Booking the test was simple—just select the time and test center on the mobile app. On the exam day, I brought my ID to the test center, queued up to wait for my turn, and entered the computer room to answer 100 questions, mainly multiple-choice and true/false questions. The results were displayed immediately after the test, with a passing score of 90 or above. I failed the first time due to nervousness but passed on the second attempt after more practice. I recommend practicing with mock exam apps to familiarize yourself with the question types and reduce anxiety. After passing, moving on to Subject 2 becomes much easier. Building a solid foundation is beneficial for safe driving in the future.
