What is the Principle of Snow Mode?
1 Answers
The principle of snow mode is to adjust the transmission through computer control, starting the vehicle in second or third gear to ensure a smoother start on icy or snowy surfaces. It reduces torque output to prevent tire slippage on slippery surfaces. Snow mode is usually activated by a switch near the gear lever, marked with a snowflake symbol. Turning on this switch during snowy conditions allows the car to start smoothly on icy or snowy roads. When snow mode is enabled, the power output becomes very smooth and gentle, making it unsuitable for everyday high-speed driving. Therefore, it is advised not to use snow mode when driving at high speeds. Additionally, snow mode is not limited to snowy conditions; it can also be used on muddy roads, wet roads during rain, or gravel roads.
