What is the penalty for modifying motorcycle exhaust and being caught by traffic police?

Modifying the motorcycle exhaust without completing the motor vehicle modification registration will result in a warning or a fine. Changing the body color, replacing the engine, body, or frame without completing the modification registration within the time limit specified in Article 10 of these regulations.
Last month I got caught for modifying my exhaust pipe. I was riding an old motorcycle with a loud aftermarket exhaust, thinking it looked cool, but then a traffic cop stopped me at an intersection. I was fined 200 yuan in cash and had 6 points deducted from my license for illegal modification disrupting traffic order. The worst part was having to remove the exhaust and restore it to factory condition within two days, or else my vehicle would be impounded. I really regret it now—spent extra money on the modification only to get fined. Honestly, a too-loud exhaust not only attracts police attention but also pollutes the environment, disturbs the neighbors, and makes riding feel unsafe since the acceleration becomes harder to control. Since then, I’ve stuck to riding my bike stock and advise everyone not to recklessly modify for the sake of looking cool—it’s just not worth the trouble. If an accident happens, insurance won’t cover it, and all that hassle ends up being pointless.
