Driving a vehicle and honking in a no-honking zone or section of road will result in a fine. If a driver honks in a no-honking zone or section of road, traffic police can record the violation on the spot as evidence for penalty. Vehicles are allowed to honk when approaching sharp turns, the top of slopes, or other sections with limited visibility that may affect safety, as well as when overtaking or in emergency situations. According to Article 62 of the Implementation Regulations of the Road Traffic Safety Law, drivers are prohibited from honking in no-honking zones or sections of road.
