Going straight in a left-turn lane is considered as not following the lane markings and will result in a fine and a deduction of 3 points. If the straight signal is red, it will be considered as running a red light. According to Article 3 of the 'Scoring Standards for Road Traffic Safety Violations', one of the following violations by a motor vehicle driver will result in a deduction of 3 points: Passenger vehicles: Driving a passenger vehicle (excluding buses) or school bus with passengers exceeding the approved number by less than 20%. Medium-sized vehicles: Driving a medium-sized or larger passenger or cargo vehicle, or a hazardous materials transport vehicle on roads other than highways or urban expressways, or driving other motor vehicles at speeds exceeding the prescribed limit by less than 20%. Weight: Driving a truck with cargo exceeding the approved weight by less than 30%. Driving a motor vehicle on a highway below the prescribed minimum speed limit.
