What is the Normal Voltage for a Car?

Under normal circumstances, the battery voltage before starting the car should be between 11.8V and 12.8V, and after starting, it should be between 13.2V and 14.8V. As long as the voltage at startup is not lower than 11V, it is considered normal. Battery Voltage: Both excessively high or low battery voltage can have certain impacts. It is advisable to regularly check the battery's condition. If the battery voltage drops below 10.8V, it should be charged promptly. If the battery voltage is too low, the car may be difficult or even impossible to start. Conversely, if the battery voltage is too high, it may damage the battery. Precautions: Always keep the battery clean and dry, ensuring the vent holes are unobstructed. If oxides appear on the plates or terminals, they should be cleaned off and a small amount of grease applied to prevent corrosion. Do not use the starter continuously; each use should not exceed 5 seconds, with a 10-15 second rest between two attempts. In severe winter, the battery discharge should not exceed 25%, and in summer, it should not exceed 50%.
