What is the normal temperature for a car radiator?
1 Answers
Car radiator temperature is normal between 80 to 90 degrees Celsius. The radiator consists of a core, water pipes, cooling fins, upper tank, and lower tank. Its function is: when the engine temperature is high, the water pump circulates the coolant to reduce the engine's temperature, thereby protecting the engine. Reasons for abnormal radiator temperature include: 1. Leakage in the cooling system's water pump or radiator; 2. Air trapped in the coolant lines when adding antifreeze, causing the coolant level to drop after the air is expelled; 3. Engine cylinder gasket damage leading to antifreeze burning; 4. High coolant temperature in the cooling system causing the coolant to boil.
