What is the normal starting RPM for a Nissan Sylphy?
1 Answers
The Nissan Sylphy has an idle speed of around 1500 RPM during a cold start, which drops to approximately 700 RPM after one minute. Reasons for higher starting RPM: In cold conditions, the vehicle needs to bring the engine to its optimal operating temperature quickly. Therefore, during a cold start, the engine control unit automatically increases fuel injection, burning more fuel than during normal idle to rapidly raise the engine coolant temperature. This results in a higher idle speed when the engine is cold. Fuel consumption during idle: For a typical 1.5L displacement family car, normal idle fuel consumption is about 1-1.5 liters per hour. With air conditioning on, this can reach approximately 2.5 liters per hour. Based on an average fuel consumption of 7 liters per 100 kilometers, this is equivalent to the fuel used for driving 35 kilometers. Naturally, vehicles with larger displacements will have higher fuel consumption.
