What is the normal starting RPM?

Engine starting RPM is normal between 1000 to 1400 RPM, while the general idling speed ranges normally between 500 to 850 RPM. During cold starts, the instantaneous idle speed is around 1500 to 2000 RPM. Once the engine coolant temperature returns to 90 degrees, the idle speed will stabilize within the specified range. The starting RPM varies depending on different vehicle models and engine types, resulting in different cold start RPM values. After a cold start, there is a high-idle process, which is particularly noticeable in winter. This phenomenon is controlled by the vehicle's onboard computer (in vehicles with electronic throttle control systems). When the engine reaches a certain temperature, the idle speed will normalize, which helps accelerate the engine temperature rise to normal operating conditions during cold starts.
