The idle speed of the Teana is generally maintained between 750 rpm and 900 rpm under normal conditions. Idle speeds vary among different models: Different models have different idle speeds due to variations in engines. Typically, the idle speed ranges between 500 and 850 rpm. During a cold start, the idle speed can momentarily reach between 1500 and 2000 rpm. Once the engine coolant temperature returns to 90 degrees, the idle speed stabilizes within the specified range. About car idle speed: Car idle speed is not a type of speed but rather a working condition. When the engine runs without load, it is referred to as idling. The engine speed during idling is called the idle speed. The idle speed can be adjusted by modifying the throttle opening, among other methods. Generally, the optimal idle speed is the lowest rpm at which the engine does not vibrate.

I've been driving the Teana for almost five years now, and this car has exceptionally stable idling. Under normal conditions, the tachometer needle basically stays fixed at the 700 RPM mark. During winter starts, the RPM might be slightly higher, initially surging to around 1000 RPM, but it gradually drops back to 700 after about half a minute as the engine warms up. If the air conditioning compressor is running, the RPM might increase by another 50 RPM or so, but these fluctuations are all within the normal range. During routine maintenance, I always specifically ask the mechanic to check the throttle body. Excessive carbon buildup can cause unstable idling, making the needle dance up and down erratically—that's when a cleaning is necessary. In short, remember that 700 RPM is the golden spot, and as long as the fluctuation stays within 50 RPM, it's considered a healthy condition.

Do I need to go to a 4S shop to replace the car battery?

You don't need to go to a 4S shop to replace the car battery. You can replace it yourself or go to an auto repair shop. The battery should be replaced every 2 to 3 years. The warranty period for a new car is about 3 years or 100,000 kilometers, and the life of a car battery is about 3 years. After this period, the owner should pay attention to the maintenance of the battery and replace it in time if necessary to avoid danger. The functions of the battery are: 1. When starting the engine, the battery supplies power to the starting system, ignition system and electronic fuel injection system; 2. When the engine stops running or is at low idle speed, it supplies power to the car's electrical equipment; 3. When the generator's output is insufficient, it can assist in supplying power to the electrical equipment; 4. It can mitigate the impact voltage in the electrical system and protect the electronic equipment on the car.

Does the Golf 8 have a particulate filter?

The eighth-generation Golf is equipped with a particulate filter to meet the China VI emission standards. A particulate filter is a ceramic filter installed in the diesel engine's emission system, which captures particulate emissions before they enter the atmosphere. It can reduce soot produced by diesel engines by more than 90%, and the captured particulate emissions are subsequently burned off during vehicle operation. Diesel engine pollution mainly comes from three aspects—particulate emissions, hydrocarbons (HCx), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and sulfur. Among them, particulate emissions (soot) are mostly composed of tiny particles of carbon or carbide (size less than 4-20μm). Working principle of the particulate filter: The diesel particulate filter is coated with metals such as platinum, rhodium, and palladium. The black smoke containing carbon particles emitted by the diesel engine enters the engine exhaust particulate trap through a dedicated pipe. After passing through the densely arranged bag filter inside, the carbon soot particles are adsorbed onto the filter made of metal fiber felt. When the adsorption of particles reaches a certain level, the burner at the end automatically ignites and burns, turning the adsorbed carbon soot particles into harmless carbon dioxide that is then expelled. To check whether the eighth-generation Golf has a particulate filter, you can use the following three methods: Check the and to see if there is a particulate filter function. Additionally, you can carefully review the fault codes in the manual to see if there is a "particulate filter" warning light indicator. Check the label above the oil filler cap. If the oil cap clearly indicates 0W-20 grade oil, it means the vehicle is equipped with a particulate filter. Check whether there is a cylindrical section behind the three-way catalytic converter on the exhaust pipe. If there is, that is the particulate filter.

Why is the engine's yellow light constantly on?

The reason the engine's yellow light stays on is that there are some faults in the engine, reminding the owner to inspect and repair the issues promptly. The causes for the engine malfunction light to illuminate include: 1. Poor fuel quality; 2. Carbon deposits accumulated in the engine; 3. Damaged, poorly connected, or interrupted signals from components such as water temperature sensor, crankshaft position sensor, air flow sensor, intake air temperature sensor, and oxygen sensor; 4. Clogged air filter in the vehicle. The function of the engine is to convert the thermal energy of gasoline or diesel into mechanical energy by expanding the gas after combustion in a sealed cylinder, thereby driving the piston to perform work. Methods for engine maintenance include: 1. Regularly changing the engine oil and filter; 2. Using lubricants of appropriate quality grades; 3. Periodically cleaning the radiator; 4. Regularly replacing the air filter, oil filter, and fuel filter; 5. Maintaining good ventilation in the crankcase and cleaning it regularly; 6. Periodically cleaning the fuel system.

Should You Press the Brake When Shifting Gears in an Automatic Transmission Car While Driving?

Whether you need to press the brake when shifting gears in an automatic transmission car while driving depends on the situation: it is mandatory to press the brake only when shifting from P (Park) to other gears; switching between other gears does not require pressing the brake. Automatic transmission cars do not require the driver to manually shift gears; the vehicle will automatically select the appropriate gear based on the driving speed and traffic conditions. Precautions for driving an automatic transmission car include: 1. Do not shift into P (Park) while driving; 2. After driving, you must turn off the engine and shift into P (Park) before removing the key; 3. Do not shift into N (Neutral) to coast while driving; 4. When starting the vehicle in P (Park) or N (Neutral), shift the gear lever out of P (Park) while pressing the brake, turn on the power while pressing the brake, shift to N (Neutral), and after ignition, shift to D (Drive) to move forward directly.
